This is a great opportunity for someone who thrives in a structured, team-oriented environment and wants to put their skills to work for an organization that truly matters to the people it serves.

About the Role

As our Accounts Payable Clerk, you'll be the engine that keeps our payments accurate and on time. You'll manage high-volume invoice processing across multiple benefit plans, ensure every transaction is properly documented and coded, and work closely with both vendors and internal team members to resolve discrepancies and maintain clean, audit-ready records.

What You'll Do

  • Process high-volume invoices accurately and on time

  • Enter invoices into the accounting system with correct fund allocation

  • Prepare and execute weekly check runs and electronic payments

  • Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies

  • Maintain organized, compliant accounts payable records

  • Communicate with vendors and staff regarding payment status and inquiries

  • Support month-end and year-end closing processes

  • Assist with audits by providing requested documentation and reports

  • Ensure adherence to internal controls, policies, and regulatory requirements

What We're Looking For

  • 2+ years of accounts payable or general accounting experience preferred

  • Experience in a benefits office, union environment, or multi-entity accounting is a plus

  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy

  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel

  • Ability to juggle multiple priorities and meet deadlines

  • Strong organizational and communication skills

  • High integrity and the ability to handle sensitive, confidential information with discretion

Compensation & Benefits

We offer a competitive salary based on experience, along with a comprehensive benefits package that includes:

  • Medical, dental, and vision coverage

  • Defined benefit pension plan and retirement savings options

  • Paid time off and paid holidays

Why Join Us

When you join the Employee Benefit Funds Office, you're not just processing invoices — you're helping to protect and deliver the benefits that union members and their families depend on. You'll be part of a collaborative, mission-driven team where your work has real impact and your contributions are valued.

If you're ready to bring your accounting skills to an organization that makes a difference, we'd love to hear from you.
