InvigorateHR, a dynamic human resource consulting firm located in Indianapolis, IN, is seeking a driven and innovative Consultant to be a part of its client solutions team. The Consultant applies a broad range of knowledge and expertise to translate client needs into tangible human resource and people management solutions. This includes the planning, management, and execution of assigned consulting projects, in addition to consultative selling and business development with both current and prospective clients. The Consultant builds strong client relationships by meeting with clients, collecting information about clients’ businesses and goals, and serving as a trusted partner and resource in addressing their needs.

This position is part-time working approximately 10 -15 hours per week; mostly virtual work but may require client visits and in-person meetings.

Key Responsibilities

Consulting (80%)

  • Works closely with clients to understand and perform an initial assessment of needs; asks thorough questions to understand the “big picture” and the client’s ultimate goal(s); collects information about the business to help ensure appropriate solutions can be formulated; crafts proposals based on assessment of client needs.
  • Plans, manages, and executes projects according to establish project plans; ensures deadlines are communicated and followed; communicates deviations from plan with clients and proactively manages work scope changes; tracks project milestones and ensures budget adherence.
  • Addresses and solves problems during project execution to ensure project is completed efficiently and effectively; identifies and resolves issues that could jeopardize client interests, project completion, or project outcomes; ensures quality review processes are followed for each project.
  • Provides creative and innovative solutions to client needs; takes a forward-thinking approach to solution development to make certain that both short- and long-term client needs are met; acts as a trusted advisor to the client.
  • Presents and delivers completed project(s) to clients in a consultative and informative manner; helps the client to understand and interpret outcomes; answers client questions as required; assists with the development of implementation plans and project execution.
  • Communicates regularly with project lead and/or company leadership on the progress of project execution; engages others as necessary to ensure successful project completion.

Business Development (20%)

  • Uses personal contacts, external centers of influence, client referrals, and other relationship building resources to help build an active pipeline of potential clients; conducts research to identify other avenues to interface with potential clients.
  • Helps the company achieve annual revenue objectives through consultative sales to existing and new clients; uses expertise to identify methods to expand service lines to existing and potential clients.
  • Assists in the development and presentation of sales presentations/recommendations to clients based upon consultative selling approach and thorough understanding of potential clients’ needs.
  • Performs research to find articles, stories, resources, or other content that is relevant to our customer base and utilizes it to invite conversation and interaction.

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resource management, industrial psychology, or related field required; advanced degree highly desirable.
  • Three or more years’ related human resources, training, and/or organizational development experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, SPHR, or other related designation preferred.
  • Human resources generalist experience; specialist, functional, or operational experience preferred; solid understanding of basic human resources laws/compliance issues.
  • Experience working with a variety of employers (size, industry, etc.) and experience working in a small company.
  • Involvement in a chapter of a human resource or related association highly preferred.
  • Valid driver’s license and mode of transportation required.
  • Excellent verbal/written communication and interpersonal skills; must be able to interact with individuals at all levels of an organization; must have effective interpersonal, listening, and presentation skills.
  • Excellent ability to present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint; ability to create client presentation materials and other documents.
  • Ability to think analytically and logically in order to troubleshoot and make recommendations for problems as identified.
  • Ability to set goals and objectives; ability to self-monitor the goals and objectives and exceed them.
