DKP, a certified Women's Business Enterprise with more than 100+ cumulative years of experience in the drug and device industry, is searching for a talented and detail-oriented Manager, Oncology & Rare Disease Market Access Strategy. This position provides the building blocks of research for key client strategic planning projects, including detailed reimbursement landscape analyses, product benchmarks and specialized initiatives. Additionally, the Manager, Business Strategy and Market Access collaborates with the DKP team to help identify and share strategic insights from payer business intelligence findings that can be developed into trending case studies that will educate all internal DKP staff on the changing reimbursement and healthcare delivery market.

Key Responsibilities

Project Management:

  • Design and manage project timeframes, and all related deliverables including interim reports and final presentations.
  • Collaborate closely with DKP teams (PayerScope and LifeCycle) to understand business objectives and communicate specifications for projects requiring clinical insights.
  • Ensure timeliness, accuracy and completeness of all projects.
  • Ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.
  • Serve as content resource for the development and implementation of strategic reimbursement planning initiatives.

Consulting Services:

  • Develop, coordinate, execute and deliver research objectives relevant to market access and reimbursement strategies for drugs and biologicals in the pre-launch, launch and post-launch phases.
  • Understand and maintain expertise in established reimbursement pathways (coverage, coding and payment) for commercial and government payers for application to new product development market access strategies.
  • Leverage available regulatory and payer coverage, coding and payment information to provide actionable results for internal staff and external clients.
  • Evaluate the impact of market and reimbursement changes and communicate recommendations and evolutionary implications.
  • Conduct and lead focused research on special projects to support and inform client strategic planning needs including, but not limited to, examples such as: 
    • Regulatory/policy guidance on reimbursement related to a specific service and/or setting of care.
    • Drug class payer formulary positioning.
    • Individual product patient access trends, including details pertaining to specific clients’ drugs/biologics and comparator products.
    • Specialty pharmacy services and implications for patient access. 
    • Competitive and analogue landscape analyses in payer reimbursement.
    • Trends in prior authorization/clinical criteria development.
  • Respond to ad hoc questions posed by the DKP consulting team (arising from clients) that require specific deep dive research on a short turnaround basis.

  • Provide motivation, support, mentoring and affirmation to entire DKP team.
  • Complete special projects as assigned and on time.

Qualifications

  • BS/BA in relevant field of study required (advanced degree MBA, MS, MPH a plus).
  • Minimum of five years demonstrated experience working with or in-depth knowledge of oncology and/or specialty drugs and payer market access a requirement.
  • Strong knowledge of pharmaceutical market access strategies and challenges among large payers and specialty pharmacies (required).
  • High proficiency in MS Office Suite, particularly PowerPoint and Excel, internet, Outlook email, with the ability to learn other applicable software as needed (required).
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, and ability to communicate effectively with payer personnel (analysts to medical directors) colleagues, clients, and staff at all levels (required).
