Ready to lead the fundraising and marketing efforts behind a mission that changes lives every day?

New Hope of Indiana is looking for a Director of Advancement to lead our fundraising, marketing, and volunteer engagement strategy — and to help us tell the story of the incredible people we serve.

Who We Are

At New Hope of Indiana, we're not just an organization — we're a community dedicated to empowering individuals with disabilities to live their most fulfilling lives. As the largest not-for-profit provider of residential services in Marion County, we pioneer transformative initiatives that foster inclusivity, independence, and a culture of compassion.

We believe in a world where everyone belongs. Our team works every day to make that belief a reality.

What You'll Be Doing

As a member of our senior leadership team, you'll bring your expertise to three connected areas of our advancement work:

Leadership

  • Develop and execute our annual fundraising strategy and marketing/external relations plan, aligned with our budget and strategic plan — including our signature Silver Cup Celebration
  • Supervise and support our Development Manager and Communications and Engagement Specialist
  • Sit on the executive team and attend leadership and board meetings as needed
  • Provide staff support to our Development, Marketing, and Silver Cup Celebration board committees
  • Lead with integrity, balancing competing priorities through ethical decision-making

Fundraising

  • Meet annual fundraising goals by identifying, soliciting, and retaining donors, grants, and financial resources
  • Research, write, and submit grant applications to foundations and corporations, partnering with our finance team on accurate tracking and reporting
  • Build and lead a meaningful donor recognition program
  • Keep our Network for Good database accurate and current
  • Cultivate strong relationships with donors at every level through a thoughtful stewardship plan
  • Stay current on ethical, legal fundraising best practices

Marketing

  • Keep our community informed and engaged with regular updates on New Hope's work
  • Share the New Hope story across print, video, online, and our website
  • Oversee the development and distribution of marketing and communications materials
  • Help build and sustain a robust volunteer program

What You Bring

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree
  • 5+ years of experience in nonprofit business development, grant writing, or fundraising
  • 3+ years in a management role
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and supervisory skills
  • Sound judgment across leadership, decision-making, problem-solving, financial, business writing, and presentation skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Suite and familiarity with Network for Good or a similar database
  • A valid Indiana Operator's License, meeting New Hope's driving record guidelines

Nice to Have:

  • Certified Fund-Raising Executive (CFRE) credential
  • Experience working with an agency serving individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, or a personal connection to the disability community
  • Prior experience as an executive team member
