DKP, a certified Women's Business Enterprise with more than 100+ cumulative years of experience in the drug and device industry, is searching for a talented and detail-oriented Manager, Health Policy and Research. This key role will provide leadership on federal (US) and state payer issues and federal engagement across therapeutic areas. Additionally, the Manager, Health Policy and Research will closely collaborate with company colleagues to positively execute successful public and private payer strategies including coverage, coding, and payment policies.
 

Key Responsibilities

Project Management:

  • Design and manage project timeframes, and all related deliverables including interim reports and final presentations.
  • Collaborate closely with DKP team (PayerScope and LifeCycle) to understand business objectives and communicate specifications for projects requiring clinical insights.
  • Ensure timeliness, accuracy and completeness of all projects.
  • Ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.
  • Serve as content resource for the development and implementation of strategic reimbursement planning initiatives.

Consulting Services:

  • Contribute health policy content to consulting engagements by developing, coordinating, executing and delivering research objectives relevant to client projects, referencing a variety of resources such as:
    • Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS)
    • National Conference of State Legislature
    • National specialty societies (ASCO, ACCC, COA, ASH, NORD, etc.)
  • Understand and maintain expertise in health policy regulation and legislation that impact company business and client’s business.
  • Contribute to client consulting engagements by providing legislative and regulatory analysis of proposed and final rules/policies.
  • Leverage available regulatory and payer coverage, coding and payment information to provide actionable results for internal staff and external clients.
  • Evaluate the impact of market and reimbursement changes and communicate recommendations.

Other Functions:

  • Apply DKP values in daily ways of working.
  • Comply with DKP processes that are required to support company operations.
  • Work effectively and efficiently in a fast-paced environment, can demonstrate self-directed capabilities to work independently.
  • Work effectively on multiple requests for multiple clients at a given time.
  • Portray professional appearance and attitude when attending client meetings, agency and healthcare industry meetings.
  • Communicate potential company service opportunities and quality improvements for this role as it evolves.
  • Provide motivation, support, mentoring and affirmation to entire DKP team.
  • Complete special projects as assigned and on time.

Qualifications

  • BS/BA in relevant field of study (public policy, healthcare management, public health) required (advanced degree a plus).
  • Possess an advanced understanding of federal and state regulatory processes and healthcare policy development (required).
  • Significant knowledge of public payer coverage (Medicare, Medicaid and other public health programs), coding and payment policies (required).
  • Minimum of five years demonstrated experience working in the pharmaceutical industry, consulting or health policy focused organization, or federal agency responsible for understanding healthcare regulations.
  • High proficiency in MS Office Suite, particularly PowerPoint and Excel, internet, Outlook email, with the ability to learn other applicable software as needed (required).
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, and ability to communicate effectively with payer personnel (analysts to medical directors) colleagues, clients, and staff at all levels (required).
