DKP, a certified Women's Business Enterprise with more than 100+ cumulative years of experience in the drug and device industry, is searching for a talented and detail-oriented Director, Market Access Strategy. This role will lead, design, develop, and ensure implementation of market access planning services with DKP’s clients. The role will also be responsible, in collaboration with other DKP consulting experts, for effectively positioning client’s oncology and rare disease therapies across key stakeholders (Commercial, Medicare, Medicaid payers and influential health systems). Additionally, the Director, Market Access Strategy will leverage his/her expertise and experience to educate and deepen relationships with both internal (DKP colleagues) and external (clients, payers, advisors) audiences through client facing.

Key Responsibilities

Market Access Strategic Leadership:

  • Lead and oversee client work scope development encompassing market access initiatives and overall market expectations, which can include: Value message development, Pricing strategy, Reimbursement strategy and planning (short- and long-term), and Distribution/specialty pharmacy strategy.
  • Lead a team of Business Strategy Consultants as the team expands over time.
  • In partnership with all DKP Lifecycle Solutions® (Clinical Services, Launch Services, Analytics, Government Payer Services), and DKP PayerScope® Market Business Intelligence Services, identify, interpret and assess macro events and trends (payer policy and economic) and advise on potential implications and possible analytics to support key messaging.
  • Identify opportunities for DKP Critical Insights® market research services to gain business/market intelligence that will effectively inform client market access strategies.

 

Top Line Corporate Performace:

  • Lead development, delivery and support of value in DKP proposals that are customized to unique client needs to close a targeted $1 million in revenues in year one.
  • Maintain day to day client-facing contact for project delivery.
  • Effectively manage escalated client situations to a positive result, anticipating problems, working with key internal DKP team members, and driving resolution.
  • Consistently achieve a 60% gross margin in pricing and delivering projects.
  • Maintain a rapid and consistent pace for consulting teams to sell and deliver a growing flow of project work, while leveraging resources wisely to optimize staff utilization and billable work.
  • Oversee process to scope and prices individual projects to ensure differentiation and optimal profitability, balancing the need to discount work for strategic clients.

 

Organizational Capabilities Quality Improvement:

  • Define individual performance objectives and assess team member performance in line with personal development plans.
  • Develops self to master sales, consulting business management, consulting skills and business relevant content information.
  • Collaborate with others in DKP to assess client needs and develop ever-evolving opportunities to bring new and better value in services.
  • Define frameworks and process to standardize routine pieces of proposal development and project delivery so that staff can focus on customizing solutions to clients’ unique business needs.
  • Build and manage a revenue forecast for DKP Market Access services, and generate and oversee a successful business development effort to meet and exceed that forecast.
  • Generate increased client knowledge in DKP market access strategic services during interactions at meetings and during capabilities discussions, with the intent of developing expanded service engagements.
  • Understand and convey DKP service offerings with the mindset that every payer meeting and industry meeting is an opportunity for business development.

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor, PhD, PharmD, MS, MPH, or MBA degree in business, management, pharmacy, or other related business/science/medical field.
  • Minimum seven years’ experience in market access/payer experience in pipeline and marketed products. Experience in oncology and/or rare diseases is strongly preferred.
  • Experience in the pharmaceutical industry, with strong insight into the commercial planning and pricing, reimbursement and access processes for physician-administered and oral oncology and rare disease therapeutics.
  • Demonstrated experience with product launch strategies and market extensions and the implications on market access.
  • Demonstrated ability to build enduring client relationships, expand company presence in key accounts, and drive repeat business.
