DKP, a certified Women's Business Enterprise with more than 100+ cumulative years of experience in the drug and device industry, is searching for a talented and detail-oriented Government Payer Liaison—Medicaid. This role will be client and payer facing, which will require leveraging expertise and experience to educate, develop and maintain relationships with both audiences as well as with policy analysts, pharmacy and medical coverage decision makers.  The Government Payer Liaison will work closely with DKP LifeCycle Solutions™ and DKP PayerScope® to develop and execute ethical tactics to proactively communicate with key payer organizations and minimize reimbursement barriers for patients and providers, and therefore, optimize access to client’s products in the Medicaid environment. 

Key Responsibilities

Project Management:

  • Design and manage project timeframes, and all related deliverables including interim reports and final presentations.
  • Collaborate closely with DKP team (PayerScope and LifeCycle) to understand business objectives and communicate specifications for payer outreach and discussion.

 

Payer Meetings and Payer Communication:

  • Serve as company lead at a variety of payer meetings (Medicaid DUR and P&T meetings, WMPAA, EMPAA, etc.) on behalf of DKP and/or a specific client, ensuring execution of meeting corporate or client business objectives.
  • Coordinate development calendar schedule of meeting events and purpose for government payer meeting attendance including rationale, specific action plans and expected outcomes.
  • Oversee and coordinate any government payer meeting attendance by other DKP staff, ensuring development of clear meeting strategy execution.
  • Network with payer decision makers and client representatives, deepening relationships with both audiences on behalf of DKP.
  • Prepare regular report summaries on payer meeting trends and meeting insights on payer decision making initiatives, relying on information gathered/observed from meeting attendance (nonpublished information).
  • Author reports containing actionable recommendations on important trends that requires additional internal or external client research or communications.
  • Conduct outreach via email, phone or in-person meetings with payer decision makers to capture coverage and reimbursement information for a specific product or disease or to educate the audience about a specific product or disease.
  • Provide tactical product launch support efforts as designated.

 

Payer Coverage Policy and Reimbursement Expertise:

  • Demonstrate a broad and deep understanding of Medicaid (fee-for-service and managed Medicaid) coverage and reimbursement for drugs (oral and IV), biologics and other treatment modalities.
  • Possess keen knowledge of government regulatory requirements for coverage and utilization management process for drugs and biologicals, as well as physician services, under Medicaid.
  • Demonstrate a deep understanding of coding systems used by payers (NDC, CPT, HCPCS) and payment methodologies and timing (invoice, AMP, ASP, AWP, WAC, etc).
  • Educate/train DKP team members and client representatives on reimbursement nuances specific to Medicaid especially in the context of interacting with payers.

 

Business Development:

  • Generate increased client knowledge in DKP services during interactions at meetings, with the intent of developing expanded service engagements.
  • Understand and convey DKP service offerings with the mindset that every payer meeting, industry meeting is an opportunity for business development.

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, management, pharmacy, or other related business/science/medical field required.
  • Minimum five years’ demonstrated experience working with Medicaid entities, either from provider, payer or biopharmaceutical roles required.
  • Demonstrated experience in project management and communicating deliverables to a diverse audience.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience in Medicaid coverage and reimbursement for drugs, biologics, and other treatments.
  • Demonstrated ability to build enduring client relationships, expand company presence in key accounts, and drive repeat business.
